How the work is approached
Work from the agreed elevations or plan, strip or handle organics as specified, and move and dress suitable material within the work limits.
What the finish looks like
The agreed rough or finished grade. Material quality, compaction and tolerance requirements are stated in the quote.
What this does not include
Grading must not be assumed to solve off-site drainage, floodplain restrictions or a structural design problem.
Where the material goes
On-site reuse, imported fill and surplus export are separate quantities and costs to track.
What changes the estimate
Cut and fill volume, material quality, haul distance, rock, moisture and equipment access determine the estimate.
What happens afterward
Stabilize disturbed soil and check the intended drainage path before the site is put into use.
A few straight answers
Can all the dirt be reused?
That depends on its suitability for the intended use. Organic or unsuitable material may need separation or removal.
Is compaction testing included?
Only when specified. Testing responsibility and acceptance criteria should be agreed before the work begins.
